Not only is Austin Texas a great place for any celebration it is also an ideal place for SPRING BREAK!
In the months of March & April, the weather in Austin is damn near perfect!
Perfect for anything outdoors including drinking, eating, hiking, exploring, paddle boarding, picnicking & so much more!
Austin has been growing in popularity over the years because of its Nashville-like attractions (except better and even slightly cheaper)!
Whether you are spring-breaking with your significant other or group of friends there will be stuff that everyone enjoys doing.
From early morning boozy breakfast to late-night shenanigans I am going to share ideas that will have you never wanting to leave!
Austin in the A.M.
No one wants to wake up early in the morning on spring break, especially after an eventful night, but with the thought of bottomless mimosas & Instagram-worthy meals, you might as well jump out of bed!
The options for brunch & coffee are absolutely endless, here are just a few ideas!
Some food-related things you can do in Austin in the morning:
- Brunch on 11th
- Breakfast at Sawyer & Co.
- Granny’s Tacos (food truck right next to Revival coffee)
- Revival Coffee (iconic pink coffee shop)
- Paperboy
- Juiceland (if you need a recovery drink lol)
I totally get it that some of us might need to wake up a bit before eating, so here are some non-food-related things to do in the morning before or even after eating your delicious food!
- Walk on Lady Bird Lake Trail
- Watch the sunrise @ Covert Park on Mount Bonnell
- Paddleboard or kayak on Lady Bird Lake
- Hike the Greenbelt
- Go to a farmers market
- Relax or get an early swim in at Barton Springs
Austin in the Afternoon
The list of things to do in Austin is endless no matter the time of day but my personal favorite time to explore the city has to be the afternoon, there is just so much going in and so much to do!
- Walk around downtown & go to all the cute shops and stores (grab some more coffee)
- Check out all the murals all around Eastside, SoCo, and Downtown
- Grab a snack or meal at the Fairground (glorified cafeteria with so many delicious options)
- Walk across the South Congress bridge or the pedestrian bridge for some of the best views of the city
- Go to Allen Boots and try on a pair of cowgirl/boy boots and a hat
- Do a boozy peddle tour!
- Segway tour all around Austin
- Shopping at the Domain
- Museum of Icecream (also at the Domain)
- Explore the capital building
Once again the list could go on forever AND ever!!!
Austin at Night
Austin is definitely known for its infamous 6th street and Rainey St. where you can find all types of bars, clubs, and lounges… you may even be able to find a mechanical bull if you are lucky.
But when it comes to live music, great food, and a good time you cannot go wrong with a night out with friends exploring a new bar or relaxing at a brewery or winery.
There is definitely something for everyone here in Austin and here are just some of my many ideas!
- Go to Rainey St.
- Eat and indulge in the great food the Rainey St food trucks have to offer
- 6th street- but definitely do your research before because there are so many different sections and you will want to find the one that best suits you (and your friends)
- Enjoy a nice dinner at a rooftop restaurant/bar
- Watch the sunset from the South Congress bridge (and see the bats of course!)
- Go to the iconic continental club for some live entertainment
- Find a bar that teaches and encourages line dancing
- Find live music!!
- And if you are perfectly content with not going out (like me) grab a glass of wine and head to your hotels’ rooftop pool or hot tub and relax!
Whether you are looking to party it up over spring break or relax and take things slow, you are looking into the right place!
Austin gives everyone a little bit of everything from outdoor adventures to mechanical bulls and boozy brunches to mouthwatering brisket!
