Creating a Realistic “That Girl” Morning Routine

We all know about the “That Girl” trend where girls are seeing other girls posting about their days and healthy habits.

A lot of the time this breaks down our confidence rather than motivating us to do better.

This is exactly why I am creating the “Realistic ‘That Girl'” morning routine.

A morning routine is something that can impact the rest of your day in a positive way and affect you in the long run.

It can even increase mood, metabolism, energy and so much more!

AND the best part is that you can customize it to your lifestyle, hobbies, limitations, and goals!!!

Where to even start?!?!

Don’t be afraid! We all have to start somewhere!

Even if you have no idea what you are doing…I promise that’s ok!

My advice on where to start would be to think of your number one lifestyle goal.

Do you want to be more active? Do you want to be more organized? Do you want to wake up earlier? Do you want to be healthier?

Whatever it may be is a good place to start!

Once you have this goal in mind it will be a lot easier to create a routine that helps you achieve your goal.

What should my routine include?

I believe that every routine should include…

  1. Drinking water
  2. Moving your body
  3. Feeding your body
  4. Setting yourself up for success
  5. Positive energy
  6. Learning something

What I believe should not be included in a routine…

  1. Negative energy
  2. Social Media
  3. Coffee on an empty stomach

How to create the perfect routine for yourself!

The first thing you should do after deciding your goals is picking a time to wake up and wake up at that time EVERY morning!

(obviously, there are exceptions and you always have to listen to your body~ if you stayed up late working and your body is exhausted then sleep in)

Then you decide, out of the 6 things each routine should include what works best for you!

For example, everyone will want to move their body differently and everyone is also going to have a different amount of time they have in the morning.

Moving your body can include working out, going for a run, yoga, stretching, or anything else you can think of that gets your blood pumping.

Feel free to read my post on What Every Successful Routine Should Include.

What your routine will look similar to when your done!

Like I said before, the great part about creating your own routine and not following someone else’s unrealistic routine. It is the ability to customize it the way you want it.

It will fit in with your schedule, abilities, goals, and lifestyle!

Everyone is different, including you, and so should your morning routine!

Vague Example Routine:

  1. Wake up
  2. Drink a glass of water when you wake up (ex: add lemon to make it more interesting & flavorful)
  3. Move your body (ex: stretch)
  4. Feed your body (ex: protein shake, smoothie or breakfast)
  5. Set yourself up for success (ex: check calendar for meetings or write in agenda book)
  6. Positive energy (ex: meditate or write in journal)
  7. Learn something (ex: read a book or read the news *I personally like Morning Brew*)
  8. Leave for work (or if you work from home open your laptop)

Potential Routine:

  1. Wake up at 5:30 am
  2. Get a glass of water
  3. Stretch
  4. Shower
  5. Make & eat avocado toast
  6. Write goals down in agenda for the day
  7. Write in 5-minute journal
  8. Read book
  9. Open laptop & begin work by 7 am

Another reminder that YOU CAN DO THIS! We all start somewhere and don’t be afraid. Doing things to benefit your health & wellbeing will set you up for success in the future! Your future self will thank you!

In the comments let me know your thoughts or if you tried creating your own realistic ‘That Girl’ Routine!
